What is meditation? Does this word ring a bell? It’s very likely that it does. Meditation is a practice in which you give your undivided attention to a singular thing. Whether it’s a religious activity or just a way for you to become relaxed, it has proven mental and physical benefits.
The term “meditation” refers to the vast variety of techniques designed to encourage relaxation, develop compassion, love, patience, and forgiveness. Meditation is also used to clear the mind and deal with many health problems such as blood pressure, anxiety, and depression.

The English word “meditation” is derived from Latin ‘Meditatio’ from a verb ‘Meditari,’ meaning to “think, contemplate, devise, ponder.”
Bringing meditation into our daily lives can do wonders for both mental and physical health.
The following are just some of the amazing benefits of meditation:

Reduces Stress

“Meditation is mind without agitation” – Narasimhan.

In the kind of world we live in, stress is a common factor in our daily lives. Meditation allows individuals to efficiently take charge of their mental state amid such crazy conditions. One should try to meditate in their free time to achieve a stress-free life.

Improves Concentration

Practicing meditation has also been proven to improve concentration. One tends to feel more focused and determined when they are regularly meditating. It also makes multitasking easier.

Increases Self-Awareness

Meditation helps in recognizing negativity in the self and helps us overcome it too. It helps to clear fogged minds and encourages calm mindsets instead. When you take some time to dive inside yourself through meditation properly, you tend to be more comfortable with showing who you are.

But the question some of you might have is whether or not meditation is the key to achieving stunning physiques? Well, to keep it short, meditation can only help one achieve mindfulness (mind-fullness). However, meditation combined with yoga can do wonders for benefiting both your brain and body.

Yoga and meditation, when practiced together, is all you need to strengthen the mind-body connection, improving overall fitness and well-being. Many popular styles of yoga efficiently combine meditation with physical routines, which use controlled breathing throughout all of the yoga poses that are performed. Following this are a few poses that make use of meditation, and can help you achieve a stunning physique as well as peace of mind.

Seated Meditation pose

Sit comfortably with your back straight. Inhale. On exhalation, begin chanting Om. “Om” contains four separate parts: Ah/Oh/mm/silence. Pause. Inhale and exhale. Chant twice more.

Child’s pose

Start by kneeling on the floor and sit on your heels with your knees about as wide apart as your hips. Lay your torso down between your thighs.

Now, slowly extend your arms out in front of you with your palms facing down on the floor. You should try and hold the pose for at least 30 seconds to 2 minutes while you deeply inhale.

Taking half an hour from your everyday life and practicing these poses can benefit your physique and also help you relax. Many health experts have talked about using yoga and meditation to achieve impressive physiques.

Furthermore, an eight-week study conducted by Harvard researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital proved that regular meditation practice rebuilds your brain’s grey matter.
So, to wrap it up here’s the deal: you can meditate to achieve a successful, happy, and stress-free life. But combining it with yoga, especially Power Yoga, can help you achieve a stunning physique, along with peace of mind.
